The Saudi economy is the largest economy in the Gulf area. Due to the increase in oil prices and an increase in computer usage, the Saudi IT Market is booming. A proposal has been presented for 5 new Economic Cities in the Kingdom. The investment for each City would be 100 billion Saudi Riyals, for a total of 500 billion Saudi Riyals. Of this massive investment, a large portion would be dedicated to Information Technology. The projected growth for IT in the Kingdom is unprecedented; consequently, the potential for IT companies is immense. As a current leader in IT in the Arabian Gulf, APTEC is certainly in line to have a significant share in this booming growth. My point of view is that each market is different and has its own dynamics. The beauty of the Saudi Arabian market is that 70% of the demographic consists of people under the age of 18. This segment of the population is technology-enabled and constitutes significant purchasing power. The youth market is the core sector we are targeting. The size of the Kingdom, as well as its unique business environment, has helped to shape Aptec SA’s new market philosophy & strategy: “Customer-driven, not vendor-driven".
In order to focus on taking care of our customers, we are not focused on competition with other distributors; instead, we are committed to our customer relationships. This commitment will create a natural and significant advantage over our competitors as we build essential relationships with our customers while other distributors are looking at a “numbers first” approach to distributorship. Ultimately, we are confident that our customer-based business model will place us at the forefront of IT business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for many years to come. In order for us to be prepared to embrace our new business philosophy, Aptec SA has reorganized and rejuvenated our Riyadh branch, opened a new branch in Dammam and tripled the size of our Jeddah branch.
