APTEC 25 Years On ...
 In January 2005, Aptec celebrated its 25th birthday. Today, with revenues in excess of $300 Million and consistent growth year after year, Aptec has truly become a leader in regional distribution and a pioneer in the IT industry.
Our management team has a combination of skillful financial management and a deep understanding of the technology. This gives Aptec a unique ability to foresee the potential in new technologies and new markets in order to make the right investments at the right time.
In 25 years there have been some common themes that characterized the way Aptec did its business. Aptec has consistently invested in and maintained its quality and high standard of customer services. Aptec has invested consistently in training its employees and its partners, to the extent that it has become known as the “University”.
The journey started back in 1980 in the UK. Aptec was a pioneer in inventing and designing microprocessor based printer controllers. This took the UK market by storm as it introduced users to a new concept, “plug and play”. Soon after, Aptec introduced bitmap printing on laser printers using the first page description language known as Layout: and this was before Postscript and before HP became a leader in laser printing. A separate division focused on designing multi lingual layers for operating systems. Aptec was the first to introduce Arabic, Urdu, Farsi, Malay, Russian and Slavic on Personal Computers.
Today, Aptec is the leading wholesale distributor of IT, mobile phones and a provider of Services in the Middle East, Turkey, Africa and CIS with more investment in distribution infrastructure than any other in the region. We only carry products from the leading vendors. Our products cover all aspects of computing and mobile telephony, serving over 40 countries. In Aptec we have ambitious plans for the region and for our customers.
